Turkey Glyphs and Thankful writing

We made turkey glyphs.

The way our turkey looks depends on how we answered questions.
This chart shows the questions that were asked.

We also wrote about the things we are thankful for in our lives.

Coloring Contest Winner

Emma was the winner the firemen's coloring contest for room 1B. Good job Emma!

Fire Safety

We went to the commons area to listen to the fireman talk about fire safety.

Mr. Hurley was one of the fireman who talked to us.

Everyone loved getting to sit in the fire truck.

We learned about the fireman's equipment.

Students practiced crawling out of the house when the fire alarm went off.

As students crawled through the house they had to check the red door to see if it was hot.

New this year was the smoke trailer. Students got to see what a room full of smoke looks like.

One student from each class got to try on some fireman gear.

The fireman showed us their trucks.

Cowtown Pictures

We practiced spelling words on a slate.

The seamstress showed us how she measured lace for a dress.

She showed us how she ruffled a piece of lace.

We learned how they made braided rag rugs from scrapes of fabric.

The blacksmith showed us how he makes nails.

We sat in a covered wagon, but no horses were harnessed to it.

The stage coach was really cool!
The carpenter showed us his tools and told us about things he makes from wood.
