We started our Gingerbread Man week by reading a traditional version of The Gingerbread Man story, and then all week long we read different versions. Next we made a "Gingerbread Man 1st Bite Graph". Students were given a gingerbread cookie to examine. They used their senses to describe it; then as they were looking at it I asked them to take a bite of it to tell me how it tasted. We then used paper Gingerbread Men to tear of the part that was bitten first. Then students glued their men onto a graph. The next day we colored Gingerbread Men based on how certain questions were answered to make our Gingerbread Men glyphs.
We ended our week by creating our very own gingerbread houses. Everyone had their own unique way of decorating their houses. It was so much fun!
